Slow Week

I have been a bad ROW80 sponsor this past week. I haven't done a bit of writing. Of course, this is not to say I haven't thought about my story...I finally figured out my conflict, so I'm please to say I'm back on the saddle again this week.

On the reading end of the spectrum, I had the pleasure of reading Shari Emerson's (fellow ROW80 writer) WIP and it was great! I am anxiously waiting for her to finish it! I also read Water for Elephants in preparation to see the movie. I enjoyed the book so much, I decided to skip the movie.

That's all I got folks.

  1. Great book! I'm also scared to see the movie. I'd be depressed if I didn't like it. Sometimes, writing is thinking. I think you'll be surprised how much this week has helped you.

  4. Cathryn - I think I'll wait to see the movie when it comes out on pay-per-view!

Kate - Thanks! It took me awhile to find the right photo for the cover.

Alberta - I thought about my WIP every second! Perhaps you're right, maybe I didn't slack off as much as I thought!

  6. d@mned fine sponsor, if I do say so myself.

Glad that conflict is ready for you now :-) I cannot WAIT to see what you are coming up with!!!

Trying NOT to get myself into too much new fiction - I'm a little too much into escapism to get typing done during a novel!! I'd say you are still doing....just fine! have a great week!

  7. It takes a lot to get me out to the movies these days. I always find the books to be so much better than the movies. Your comment got me thinking about the bare handful that are as good as the books. To Kill a Mockingbird? Lord of the Rings? Not many, at any rate. And I still have to read The Fury. It's definitely ahead of Water for Elephants! Keep up the good work, co-sponsor!

  8. I know all about thinking instead of writing. It always feels like slacking until the words explode out. Then you realize how hard you were working.

  9. Shari - yes! Finish your story...I'm dying to know more :)

Vicki - I can think of only one book that I enjoyed less than the movie...The Pelican Brief. And seeing that The Fury is only 10k words, you could probably fit in WFE that same day!

    Andrew - Always encouraging :)
