I've been writing like a bandit these last few days. The story is just flowing and my characters keep surprising me. To be honest, I can't stop writing because I want to know how it all ends! That's what happens when you're a pantser and let the characters tell the story.

For my new followers, I should probably clarify how my book came about. Earlier this year, I had an almost complete first draft of Heir. But somewhere along the way, the story changed. My characters demanded that the story be told from a different viewpoint. I listened and as a result, I've spent the last few months writing, re-writing, cutting, and editing. It went from a story about fantastical elves to alternate realities. It was an ambitious switch, but one that I'm completely happy with. The theme is still there, but the world is quite different.

Now that I'm almost done, I have decided on another drastic change. After much consideration, I decided to rename my WIP from Heir to Parallel. I also anticipate a cover change to reflect all these changes.

Until next time, when I hope to have an even better update (i.e. release date!)

  1. Writing like a bandit? Good for you! And I completely understand about the characters doing whatever they want. I can be writing and suddenly the story goes in a completely different direction. Or the villain turns out to be someone different. But isn't writing that way great fun? :0) Keep up the good work!

  2. Go Bandit Go!! Keep it up, my hero!

  3. Yay you! I love when you can't stop because you're dying to know what will happen. Always a great sign, imo. Have a great week. :)

  4. Good for you. Love it when the story flows and enjoy those aha moments when the characters reveal something new or a different direction. Also a pantster here.

  5. What? There's another way to write then pantser??! I'm a pantser too. Yay on the writing just flowing!! Love the new name too.

  6. Thanks for the support guys! I added another 5k over the weekend...almost there!
