Bless me blogger peeps for I have sinned. It's been one week since my last post.
Okay, I feel better now. Now that that's out of the way, I am thrilled to be able to say that PARALLEL is now in the capable hands of my editor, Stacey Turner. I finished my last round of edits on Monday and sent it not only to my editor, but my faithful betas, who have waited patiently for me to get them a cleaner copy (I'll be going through a 2nd round w/ Stacey, so I'll have a chance to incorporate all your wonderful comments).
I took Monday off from writing - I really needed it and last night I began working on a very rough draft of Book 2. I say 'very rough' because for those of you who know me, know I'm a pantser. Once I have the general idea, I just let my characters take control of the story.
Now that I've got PARALLEL out to Stacey, a rough sketch of Book 2, my mind can't help but go back to another book I'm working on. It's still in the infancy stages, but I can't get it out of my mind, so I'll probably be working on that as well.
And if you're mulling around on this overcast Wednesday (well, in Northern Virginia it is), check out my new blog tour page at Kismet Book Touring! Danny and Pushy did a fabulous job...thanks guys! In fact, they've done such a great job, they've received way more requests than needed to host me during my tour...this is both exciting and terrifying, all at the same time.
Hi Claudia,
ReplyDeleteDon't you love having just a rough idea and then charging ahead just to see where it could go. I think it is great to be surprised by the story you write in the first draft.
Looking forward to see how it goes and thanks for the comment on my blog. It is great to be part of ROW80

I'm pretty sure I speak not only for myself, but also your Betas, I'm so happy to have your book in my hands!
ReplyDeleteI'm a pantser too. Nothing wrong with that!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get back to editing your book. Lol.
Congrats on the book tour!
Stacey
Congrats on getting your book into the final stages! That's great.
ReplyDeleteTaking a day off is much needed once in awhile, especially to bask in your accomplishment. Hope you enjoyed it.
Happy writing on book II... ~ Nadja
It must be such a good feeling to hand in a finished book and you definately deserved a day off!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the start of book 2 and the other idea that is seeking your attention!
Thank you for stopping by my blog and for your comment :)
Congrats on finishing the book!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finished the book. Can't wait (but guess I'll have to *grin*) to read the book. I'm a pantster as well which is surprising given that I'm a controloholic. Good luck with your new baby - book#2
ReplyDeleteall these pantsers on the same comments section and blog - great grin for the morning :-) I'll have comments back soon, never fear! I missed my last post too - ugh. Wind left my sails a bit unexpectedly sunday but all is much better now, I'm just in aftermath/recovery now. As I suspect you are, too :-) have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck juggling your projects, must be exciting to start another book.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you that you've finished that work on Parallel and can move on to other things.
ReplyDeleteEveryone needs a day off once in a while, don't feel guilty about that!
