Freeze Out

Well, it's been an interesting couple of days. First, my laptop crapped out (I'm currently on 'safe mode' - it's the only way this pc will work without freezing) and I've spent the last couple of nights researching mac's (thanks Amber for you support and advice!). Hopefully I will have a new mac by next weekend! I'm grateful that I already have PARALLEL out for editing or I would have busted a gut!

Then yesterday, the hubby and I were on our way to my mother-in-laws to get ready to attend a wedding in D.C. Well, not ten minutes into the drive, we stall and (long story short) get towed to the nearest Land Rover dealership. Several hours and a $75 cab ride later, we made it to the reception at the Swedish Embassy just in time. We weren't exactly sad about having to miss the ceremony until we found out the groom passed we did miss that.

Needless to say, I didn't get any writing done yesterday, but I did manage to get some writing in Friday afternoon, working on Book 2 and another WIP I'm trying to get started on. Today will be spent backing up files, preparing them for a new home.

  1. Sounds like an interesting few days! I am starting to view such unexpected (and often unwelcome) experiences as simply more writing fodder!

    Have a great week!

  2. Oh no! Car trouble is never any fun. Sorry to hear. And sorry about the PC issues. Sounds like you are handling it well, though. Keep up the good work and hope the new Mac comes quickly.

  3. I would like to have seen the groom pass out. That would make for good writing fodder! I did see a groomsmen pass out once. That was a hoot!

I've got two chapters left to edit and I'm loving this book! So get back to work on the second one- I hate long waits!

Glad you finally made it to the reception!

  4. I hope you have a better start to your week! I'm sure it will improve greatly once you get your mac ;) I was glad to help, and if you have any questions I'm always a short tweet away!

  5. another book idea?- good luck with new machine when you get it - all the best with this week

  6. Aww, sorry to hear about all the mishaps! But, ooh, backups, thanks for the reminder :-)
