Writing Updates

I know! Two posts back to back! I can't believe it either, but here it is. Only this time, I'll be updating you on what's going on with my WIP's (not that there's much to report). If you missed yesterday's post, that's okay, it's still there, below this one.

PARADIGM is coming along and I managed to get 3k words in this week, which is pretty impressive considering I had a flooded basement to deal with this week. Word to the wise, if you know you have flooding issues, don't wait two days to check your basement!

I am almost done with my anthology, unDEAD DIXIE DEBS. I just need to iron out a few more details with the short story I'm adding to the collection and then it's off to get proofread and formatted!

And before I forget, I finally figured out how to organize my emails/contacts, so if you want to subscribe to my awesome new newsletter list, the sign-up is on the right column. I PROMISE I won't spam you with worthless emails...but I will send out an email whenever there's a new book out or really important news.

Now for more pressing matters...I'm really torn on how I want to spend my day today. The sun is out, it's a nice 79 degrees out....so, do I spend a few hours outside reading, be productive and write, or tackle the rest of the basement?

Have a happy writing week!

  1. You seem to be doing well with your goals, that's great! As for what to do today...when in doubt, always choose writing. But that's just little me saying. Have a great week!

  2. Thanks Em. I decided to schedule my day...2 hours reading, 2 writing, THEN I'll tackle the basement (don't want mold/mildew!)

  3. wouldn't know where to go - sunshine so rare could be tempted out but mouldy basement ugh and then theres the writing - don't envy you that choice:)

  4. 3K IS impressive when dealing with a flooded basement. My husband would say, "See, this is why I insisted on not having a basement." Only, then there's nowhere to go when a tornado comes through....

It's so hard not to go out and enjoy the beautiful day. Can you write outside?

    1. I managed to read AND write outside yesterday...glad I decided to get lazy about cleaning the basement. It rained again today and basement got flooded (not as bad)...plumber is coming tomorrow to fix the sump pump!

  5. Yay! 3K words on Paradigm-that is fantastic! And you got work done on your anthology...it all sounds like progress to me! I hope you enjoy your day and have a great week!

  6. I'm hoping there is some good news on the basement front. Basements are challenging, but so worth it... If only for the childhood memories of the dark, creepy, musty places that get the imagination flying. (Not saying yours is anything like that... )

Great word counts, Claudia. Hope that all that squeegeeing and fanning doesn't hold you back from doing the same thing this week. :-D And hope you get a chance to enjoy some of the lovely weather.

    1. I wish I could give you good news. Since the plumber we called last Thursday can't come until tomorrow, we had another flooding last night. This time it was worse, due to all the water from the previous storms. :(

There's not much I can do about the flooding today, so I'm writing! And since my office is closed tomorrow, I'm writing (letting the hubby handle the plumber). Things look somewhat decent on the writing front!

  7. Don't go in the basement when it's sunny! Hope you spent the day outside reading and writing :-)

  8. Seems floods do have a mind of their own so I think you were smart to check on your basement when you were ready for it. Also, great word count total for the week, a more positive flood perhaps.

Hope this week was as productive.
