Christmas in July

No, not really. But it feels like Christmas. PARALLEL is almost complete and ready to be sent out to my beta readers in the next couple of days. All that's left is for me to decorate my Christmas tree! That's how I envision my book. The chapters and the body are the tree, and the editing process is a lot like adding ornaments. Once my beta's get a hold of it, I'm sure I'll be adding the tinsel, and when my editor does her magic, the star that goes on top.

Now that I'm almost done, I do feel a little like a girl opening gifts on Christmas morning. In between edits, I've been working on a rough outline for Book 2.

I'm hoping to put up some preview chapters soon so you can tell me what you think. I'll keep ya'll posted.

  5. I love this metaphor -- the story as the Christmas tree, and editing as ornaments. Definitely makes the thought of editing and revising much more interesting!

Looking forward to seeing the previews of Book 2!
